Our Football Team was outscored 2-1 by visiting Çaykur Rizespor in their first match of Fortis Cup Group A. Our lone goal came from Argentinean Higuain at the 7-minute mark.

The game was played at BJK İnönü Stadium and refereed by M. Kamil Abitoğlu. Off to a fast start, Beşiktaş jumped out to a 1-0 early lead with a long-range drive by Higuain. Beşiktaş managed to remain 1-0 in front at intermission.
After İbrahim Üzülmez came on for Aydın Karabulut, Leandro leveled the score at 1-1 in the 47th minute. While Beşiktaş were licking their wounds, Kürşat put visitors 2-1 ahead in the 60th minute. Despite Ricordinho and Burak Yılmaz  substitutions for Batuhan Karadeniz and  Mehmet Yozgatlı Beşiktaş never recovered and lost the cup game 2-1.
Meanwhile, in the other game of our group Ankaragücü posted a 3-1 win over Diyarbakır DİSKİ.
