Beşiktaş Cola Turka:84 Mersin B.B.:68

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball Team snatched an 84-68 victory away from Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi in the 4th week of the Beko Basketball League.

Off to an unexpectedly bright start, visitors jumped out to an early lead by Fobbs’s back-to-back baskets in the painted area but Black and Whites came back to tie it up at 7-7 with a long range 3-pointer from Cevher 4 minutes into the game. However, Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi staged a more effective defensive performance  under its own board as they opened up a 10 point gap by Jones’s 3-pointer that put them ahead 17-7  with 3 minutes remaining. Thanks to Ümit’s late baskets, visitors stayed 23-18 in front after the first quarter.
Spurred by an improved second half defense, Beşiktaş Cola Turka first tied the score with Nicevic’s basket at 30-30 and then took the lead on a 2-pointer by Apodaca for the first time in the game at the 16-minute mark. However, Mersin city representatives quickly responded with a barrage of 3-pointers from Reha and Stefanov as they went to their locker room leading 41-39 at intermission.
Beşiktaş Cola opened the third with a consecutive run of 3-pointers by Dalmau and Shumbert and allowed only 5 points in 8 minutes. Heading to final quarter, Kaya Peker’s outstanding overall performance helped Black and Whites grab a 53-46 edge they never relinquished.
A series of unanswered baskets from Dalmau and Erkan extended home team's advantage to a huge 18 points with only a minute left to play as Beşiktaş Cola Turka virtually dominated the entire quarter. Black and White team walked away with an 84- 68 comeback victory at the end.
Before the tip-off, Black Eagles stepped on the court with a ‘‘We Are All Soldiers’’ written banner and their fans supported them with their own national flags throughout the game.
