After this magnificent victory by our football team in BJK İnönü Stadium Technical Director Ertuğrul Sağlam said “this victory is a tribute to our soldiers who died a martyr in the latest sad incidents and to all of our fallen, veterans and soldiers”

Ertuğrul Sağlam made the following comments:
“Our Players are very enthusiastic, happy and proud of their involvement. Our Country and our team needed this kind of victory. Our Players have fought at the highest level. We never gave them a chance to become dominant in the game. They did not have any important positions even though they seemed effective at times. We had several positions to score more goals. We were relaxed after the second goal and conceded a goal. The last 5 minutes were really difficult but we won at the end of the game. This victory will build our citizens’ morale, who fall on hard times recently. It is also important for us to stay close to the top in our group. There is only one thing to say about this victory: we dedicated this victory to all fallen and veterans, who sacrificed their life to defend our Country. We will continue to fight in the remaining 3 games and try very hard to be successful.
Liverpool is a team with effective players. We had to try to score goals and not give them any chances at the same time. Even though we had difficult times towards the end of the game, we won and we all are pleased.
It is very difficult to play at Liverpool’s football ground. But we showed everybody that we have the capacity to beat Liverpool. Our main goal is to grab one of the first two places available in the group after this victory.  We will try to complete our remaining matches with a total of 9 points.
Even though staying in the stands seems a disadvantage in not being able to intervene in the game, it has the advantage of seeing the field from a different angle. Benitez is a very experienced and successful technical director. It was very kind of him to congratulate me.’’
