After congratulating all his players on their valiant effort, our Technical Director, Ertuğrul Sağlam said, ‘‘we truly deserved to win’’ and made this comment regarding the game:

‘‘This was a must-win game for us but it also turned out to be meaningful victory which will be remembered for a long time. Despite falling behind early, they managed to regroup quickly and put up an outstanding fight. I applaud each and every one of them for their courageous effort. 
After trailing 2-0, we did not allow any other scoring chance. We celebrated this well earned victory in the locker room together with its architects. But starting from tomorrow, we must solely concentrate on our upcoming Champions League game against Liverpool.
I don’t recall any player performing below par. Everybody fulfilled his own responsibility today except the first 7-8 minutes. 
Our striker, Bobo wanted to play goalkeeper on his own initiative and our goalkeeper trainer Öztürk Tanrıbilir endoresed his decision. I think, he did a good job out there. Finally, we are all delighted for this memorable 3-2 comeback victory.
It is always nice to win against Trabzonspor but staying close to the top spot was more satisfying for us today.’’
