Our Football Team posted a 1-0 victory over visiting Gençlerbirliği in the 8th week of the Turkcell Super league at BJK Inönü Stadium. Our goal was scored by Nobre in the 45th minute.

The game played in a warm weather left from summer and refereed by Barış Şimşek.  Our near capacity fans in the stands supported Black Eagle throughout 90 minutes.
Black & Whites kept exerting pressure on visitors with a tremendous tempo right from the start.  Imprisoning Gençlerbirliği into its own side of the field, Beşiktaş created serious scoring chances with Tello, Delgado, Nobre and Burak early in the game. Black Eagles also implemented an effective press all over the field that prevented the visiting side have any viable impact in the game. In the closing minute of the first half, Mert Nobre directed Ali Tandoğan's long touch into the Gençlerbirliği net with a clever shot and put Black& Whites 1-0 in front just before the teams went to their locker rooms.
In the early part of second half, visiting representatives from Capital City looked more offensive but the brilliant and timely saves by our keeper Hakan would not give visitors any chance to equalize the score. After Koray Avcı replaced Delgado in the 66th minute, Burak and Nobre missed golden opportunities to increase Beşiktaş’s advantage even further but without any result. While Higuanin substituted Burak in the 77th minute, Diatta entered the gamer for injured Gökhan Zan 10 minutes from time. Since neither team was able to change the score, Black & Whites pocketed 3 points with a 1-0 valuable win.
