Besiktas Cola Turka:63 B.C.Moscow:69

Our Cola Turka Women’s Basketball Team suffered a 69-63 setback against BC Moscow in the first game of International Magic Cup 07 tournament organized by Istanbul- Kartal Municipality.

The game was played at the Sports Facilities of Ortadoğu College and during the early part of the first quarter, the Black & White trio made up of Esra Erden, Vanessa Hayden and Seda Erdoğan managed to hit back to back points for our ladies. Despite having numerous chances to break the game wide open, little unforced     errors by Beşiktaş kept the representative from Russia at close range on the scoreboard. Black & White ladies achieved a 6 point lead at the end of the quarter (24-18).
Beşiktaş tried to repeat its productive performance in the second quarter as well but the high percentage outside shots by the visitors started to cut the deficit down in their favor. At 4:00 to play in the quarter, the difference between the two strong sides was reduced to only 2 points. Thanks to extra points by Vanessa Hayden and Sariye, Black & Whites went to their locker room leading 39-38 at the end of the first half.  
At start of the third quarter, both teams kept exchanging accurate shots but the fast breaks by Besiktas Cola Turka Basketball Team eventually proved to be more effective and gave our Team a 5 points advantage (47-42) at exactly 5:00 to go in the quarter. During the remaining time, Black & Whites raised its tempo to protect their 55-48 lead.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s team started off the final quarter with a solid defensive performance and maintained its 7 point command at 7:00 from time (57-50). However, during the final 5:00, the Russian team not only took advantage of Black & Whites’ unforced errors but also registered some key baskets that tied the game at 59-59 with 3:00 left. The visitors successfully held off a last attempt by our ladies to take the lead as the Moscow team stole the show with a string of unanswered points. Black & Whites could not avoid a 69-63 loss at the end.
