Beşiktaş Cola Turka:81 - Aris:84

Continuing its pre-season preparations in Italy, our Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball Team, suffered an 84-81 loss at the hands of Aris in the final game of the Banca Tercas Cup.

Unfortunately, Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball Team could not prevent a last second basket by Aris that took away their opportunity to win the cup.
Starting the game with a first five consisting of Dalmau, Sinan, Shumpert, Cevher and Nicevic, the Black & White team, thanks to Shumpert’s back to back three pointers, first led 14-8 in the 5th minute and increased its advantage to 12 points with two minutes left in the period (21-9). But Massey from Aris hit back to back shots and lowered the deficit to 23-21 at end of the first period.
During the first five minutes of the second period both teams exchanged baskets and kept the score close as the 15 the minute passed in a 35-35 tie. Aris responded Dalmau’s baskets with Serapinas in these minutes. But a last second three point shot that hit the target by Shumpert put Black & Whites 48-44 ahead going into locker room at the half.
The most crucial time of the game took place in the second minute of this half, when Niseviç received an additional technical fault and had to leave the game with 5 fauls on him. During this period Greek Eurolig representative found baskets by Tsaldaris and led 64-61 after three periods.
At the start of the fourth and final quarter, Beşiktaş faced difficulties in the painted areas under both baskets and trailed by as many as 10 points (79-69). However, our team did not give up the game easily and their effective defensive play succeeded in lowering the gap steadily. Despite being down by 5 points with 14 seconds to go, Beşiktaş Cola Turka managed to bring the deficit to 2 points with Jaaks’ steal but then missed one of the two free throws taken by Wright to tie the game up. Since the ensuing three-point shot attempts by Apodoca and Jaaks were all off-targets, Black & Whites lost the game 84-81.
In the other game of the tournament, Teramo managed to outscore Z.Kaunas 79-71 and win the Banca Tercas Tournament.
