Our 23-year-old Argentine transfer, Federico Higuain has signed a 3 year contract in front of press at a ceremony organized in BJK Nevzat Demir Facilities. 

The signing ceremony was attended by our General Secretary, Kenan Öner and Board Member, Emir Tamer who is charge of our Chess, Bridge and Table Tennis branches.
Our new Argentine striker made these comments regarding his future with Beşiktaş:
"I want everybody to know that I am extremely delighted to be here. I have come to a great Club. I want to thank my managers who made this transfer possible. I received a truly warm welcome from our fans. I will work very hard and try not to disappoint them. I had a chance to visit the Club building and facilities. All these TV cameras present here prove that I am being a part of a great family. I came to Istanbul from a far away country and left my family back there. Everybody should know that I am here not for vacation but to play good football for my team. I am sure, together with my teammates, we will bring many championships to Beşiktaş."
Regarding to his Maradona style of playing back in Argentina ‘From now on, I will be Maradona of Istanbul not Argentine,’’ Higuain said.
When asked about why he preferred Beşiktaş against all those other transfer offers, Higuain replied, ‘‘First of all, Beşiktaş was the biggest club than the others. Besides, our managers made a more serious approach to my transfer. Playing for Beşiktaş in European Champions League is another factor that influenced my decision.’’ 
About his opinion of our fans, ‘‘I have never experienced such an enthusiastic welcoming ceremony before. I don’t think this is seen quite often. I will respond to their sincere love with my good football and goals,’’ Federico Higuain added.   
In relation to competition among other goal scorers in the team, Higuain commented, ‘‘Without a true competition among teammates, a club doesn’t go anywhere. I am sure our Technical Director will select the best 11 players and I intend to work hard and be one of them.’’  
When he was reminded of having teammates speaking the same language Higuain said, ‘‘Since football is a team game, a healthy communication is a prerequisite so I will start learning Turkish as soon as I can. Besides, in addition to my teammates, I want to speak Turkish in front of press members as well.’’ 
At the end of the speeches, Frederico Higuain signed a 3 year contract with Beşiktaş in front of the press.
