Expressing his pleasure for his transfer, Our International Goal Keeper made these comments regarding his new home:
"I am with the people who trust and want me. Therefore, in order to make happy and not to embarrass those who believe in me, I will give my best and carry Beşiktaş to great victories. That’s the main reason why I came here. I hope this transfer will be beneficial both for me and for my new community.’’
"I AM PEACEFUL AT BEŞİKTAŞ"
Our National Team Captain Rüştü added: "I am quite peaceful and happy here. I will work hard to deserve this jersey. I would like to thank to all those who made my transfer possible. I came to Beşiktaş as person who still has lots of unfinished goals. I told them that I would be truly honored to play for such a great community. They told me what they expected of me and I made the deal wholeheartedly. Having a peaceful environment is very important. I came here in search of peace and I knew I would find it here. Our objective is to undersign significant and lasting achievements. I came here because I still have dreams to realize. I have no doubt that I will reach them here.''
"I DIDN’T COME HERE FOR MONEY"
Stating that he didn’t come to Beşiktaş for money, Rüştü continued: ‘‘I can assure you that I didn’t come here for money. All my past and present managers can tell you that money has never been an object in my career. I came here because I still feel powerful. I know I will never regret my decision for being here.’’

Reminding us that he already knows the great Beşiktaş fans very well, Rüştü concluded his words by saying: ‘I am person who knows the unique nature of Beşiktaş fans. Everybody knows the features of a great team. When a player gets transferred from a popular team to another great team there will always be some cracked voices. But they will never affect my performance on and off the field. I have always been a person who serves his flag. I don’t think I will face any difficulties in my new club. I came here with my honor. As you will all recall, the National Team players were appreciated everywhere in Turkey after our 2002 World Cup third place finish. I tasted this love in front Beşiktaş Fans at İnönü Stadium for the first time. I know I will be subject to that kind love quite often. ’’

Emphasizing the fact that he has already played for the 3 most popular teams of Turkey Mehmet Yozgatlı said: ‘I am thrilled to be here. I played for all 3 big teams and I was successful in most of them. I think I made a part of history. However, it is important that I play extremely well at Beşiktaş this year because I want to get selected for the National Team. I will work hard in trainings and deserve my jersey.’’
