Mr. Ergin Ataman, the new coach of Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball Team has set his hand to a contract for the next season at a signing ceremony held before press at BJK Akatlar Sports and Culture Complex. 

During the ceremony attended by Gülnaz Arsel, Official Spokeswoman and Board Member in charge of Commnucation, Nedim Sarsmaz, Board Member in charge of Sports Schools and Şeref Yalçın, the Head of Basketball Branch, Mr. Ergin Ataman has signed a 1+1 year contract.
Stating that Beşiktaş Basketball Team has always aimed at higher achievements, Mr. Şeref Yalçın said: ‘‘We have made an agreement with a proven name. We have been holding joint meetings for long time. I am glad that we have reached a positive conclusion at the end. We are placing our team in the hands of Ergin Ataman for the next season. No should forget that Beşiktaş is a well known international brand who always works with established names.’’   
Expressing his pleasure for being in charge of such great team, Ergin Ataman added: ‘‘I have been making plans with Beşiktaş for quite sometime. I am here because I share the same ambition as the management. We both want to become successful and set high and lasting goals for ourselves. Beşiktaş has really worked hard to bring me back to Turkey. Their hard work and future goals brought me here. I've coached some well known teams in Turkey and Europe but this will be my first experience with one of the three major teams of our country. There is no doubt that Beşiktaş has a much larger organization than the teams I had the chance to work with in Europe. I am also well aware of the difficulties I will face here but if we are locked together as a community, I am sure we will overcome all of them. Let’s not forget that Beşiktaş at one time was a respectable basketball school in this league. Our main objective is to undersign significant local and international victories and become an admirable school again’’
Reminding us that Beşiktaş’s new  transfer policy for this season will concentrate on key players who will bring success in short time, Mr. Ataman concluded his words : ‘This year we will go out to play in Europe and we wish to be successful there. Our transfer negotiations are still going on. We will make a  public announcement in very near future.’’
