During a press conference held at BJK Nevzat Demir Facilities, our Chairman Yıldırım Demirören announced that Ertuğrul Sağlam that would coach the  team next season. His speech included:

“At the last press conference following the leave of Mr. Tigana, I have stated that we were looking for a competitive coach who knew Turkey and Beşiktaş and also a person who had a vision and goals. As a result of further meetings on this subject, The Board of Directors and I decided on Ertuğrul Sağlam, who still has a special place in the hearts and minds of Beşiktaş Community established during his service to Beşiktaş. Thanks to his high set goals, we are sure that he will bring our young Beşiktaş team to much better places.
Last year was the year of Turkish coaches. And Mr. Ertuğrul Sağlam was one of the most successful of them. I sincerely believe that we will attain great achievements together with Ertuğrul Sağlam. But here, the Board of Directors, Beşiktaş Community and you, the esteemed members of the press have a special duty to perform. We must stand right next to our coach and support him till the very end. We must help him to reach his objectives perfectly in line with his love for Beşiktaş. As having the youngest chairman, management and coach in the league, we will get closer to our goals step by step under the synergy created with  Beşiktaş supporters. I wish a good luck for Ertuğrul Sağlam, the Beşiktaş Community and Turkish Football.”
Our new coach Ertuğrul Sağlam made the following remarks:
“I am very glad and proud of coming back home, to my Club seven years later after I quit actively playing football for Beşiktaş in 2000. I would like to express my gratitude to our Esteemed Chairman and  Board of Directors that played important role in my transfer and to all Beşiktaş fans and Beşiktaş Community who supported me during this decision process. I will try my best by reflecting the theoretical information I acquired as a result of my 18 years of professional football career plus 4 year of sports academy training and my graduate education to the players of our team at all times. During our 7 years of service at Beşiktaş, we had the admiration of all Beşiktaş supporters for our on & off – field performance and gained the appreciation of Turkish football public opinion. I have continued to adhere to this line and style during my coaching term for other teams and I wish to do same for the Beşiktaş as well.
We will form a team that will establish the admiration and sympathy of all football fans in Turkey. We will combine our good football on-the field with positive performance off- field while providing exciting and entertaining 90 minutes to our fans at each game. Constituting such a team is our main goal from now on. Of course the realization of this goal requires a team work. And in this respect, we will need the constatnt support of our Chairman, Board of Directors, Technical Staff, Players and your esteemed members of the media. The people truly who want Beşiktaş to succeed must support us during this upcoming period. I hope that our new mission will be useful to Beşiktaş and the Turkish Football for many years to come.”
 After the conclusion of speeches, Ertuğrul Sağlam signed a 2.5-year contract with Beşiktaş. The signature ceremony was also attended the Members of our Board of Directors.
