Our player-manager of our Chess Branch, Umut Atakişi wins this year’s Presidency Cup reorganized after a 7 year break.

The games were organized at Ankara Chess Center between April 7 and 30 with participation of 13 players and Umut Atakişi won the Cup with 9.5 points. Other Beşiktaş entry, Barış Esen took 8.5 points and managed to finish third.

During award ceremony of the tournament, Ali Nihat Yazıcı, the Head of Turkish Chess Federation expressed his appreciation for the restart of this prestigious chess tournament and congratulated the players for their participation and the games they played.
