Having successfully defeated Ankara Jandarmagücü 46-27 in the 3rd round at BJK Süleyman Seba Sports Saloon our Handball Team easily reached the semifinal of the Turkish Cup.
Since both teams exchanged consecutive goals during the early stages of the game, the score was tied 5-5 after the first 7 minutes. The solid defensive performance of the visitors kept the score close and Jandarmagücü managed to take a 9-8 brief lead in the 13th minute of the first half.From this moment on, our Handballers took the game’s control into their own hands and started to build up a deficit with back to back goals. Accurate shots from long range made the score 18-12 in favor of Beşiktaş in the 22nd minute. Getting rid of its sluggish start, Black & Whites prevented its opponent from scoring for over 4 minutes. As an outcome of this efficient effort Beşiktaş went to the locker room with a comfortable lead at the half (26-15).
Beşiktaş managed to sustain its impressive outing in the second half as well and increased the deficit to 14 points in the 14th minute (36-22). In spite of a natural slowdown caused by this insurmountable point advantage which at one point went up to 20 points, Beşiktaş did not lose its game discipline. At the final buzzer, Black & Whites registered a 46-27 victory over visiting Ankara representative and grabbed a well earned place in the semifinal of the Turkish Cup.
