Thanks to his self-sacrificing and solid performance against Antalyaspor, Beşiktaş's number 2 goal-keeper Murat Şahin has gained the appreciation of football fans from all sides.

Despite of suffering a serious injury, he insisted on staying on the field and made some critical saves which affected the outcome of the game. Following Beşiktaş’s 1-0 crucial victory in which he performed superbly, Murat Şahin made this statement regarding his performance:

‘‘My strong desire for winning the championship title made me forget all my pains and kept me in the game as though I suddenly gained extra arsenal to continue. I don’t think I will ever forget this evening. However, I also believe that in order not to leave our team alone all our players would show the same resolve and sacrifice during these crucial times. No one should doubt that if I ever find myself in the same situation, I'll try to give my best again because championship title is worth everything.’’
