In the 27th week of the Turkcell Super League, our Beşiktaş Football Team managed to post a 1-0 victory over  visiting Çaykur Rizespor with an 8th minute penalty goal scored by Brazilian Ricardinho.  

Following an exceptionally fast start into the game, Black & Whites were awarded a penalty shot when Nobre was brought down inside the penalty box during as early as the 8th minute. Ricardinho sent Rizespor’s goalie to opposite corner as he gave Beşiktaş a 1-0 lead in the game. Since the Black Eagle preferred to display rather a controlled football after the goal, first half was concluded with 1-0 in favor of Beşiktaş.
The second half was mostly played in the midfield while all attempts of Çaykur Rizespor to level the score were successfully weathered by goalkeeper Vedran Runje and an effective Beşiktaş defensive line up. During this time Black & Whites came close to scoring an insurance goal with Nobre and Burak but both players wasted their chances. Since there was no other goal during the remaining minutes of the game Black Eagle won this critical game 1-0 and pocketed a valuable 3 points that reduced its point difference between league leading Fenerbahçe to mere 4 points with 7 games left to play in the season.
