Our professional Football team brought down visiting Kayseri Erciyesspor 1-0 at the end of a hard fought game played in front of the empty stands of BJK İnönü Stadium in the 25th of the Turkcell Super League. Our lone but crucial goal was scored by Mert Nobre in the 73 minute and Black &Whites turned another important corner in their race for the championship.
Due to our penalty, the final league match of week was played without spectators and refereed by Cem Deda. Starting from the first whistle, Beşiktaş exerted a relentless pressure on the Erciyesspor defense in search of an early goal, while the visiting team preferred to rely on a sporadic counterattack tactic. Beşiktaş was forced to make change in the 14th minute and brought Ali Tandoğan into the game for Mustafa Doğan who sustained an injury following an illegal tackle by his opponent. After this compulsory substitution, Black & Whites started to launch attacks organized especially from the right wing but the solid defense of the visitors would not allow Beşiktaş attain serious scoring positions. Despite playing in Kayseri Erciyesspor’s field during most of the time, Beşiktaş could not reach to its desired goal and had to go to lockers with a 0-0 tie at the end of the first half.At the start of the second half, Our Black & Whites missed a golden opportunity to take the lead with İbrahim Akın and same İbrahim Akın was replaced by Gökhen Güleç in the 65th minute of the game. Thanks to Nobre, Beşiktaş finally went ahead when the clock showed 73rd minute. Following a dangerous right wing free-kick by Ricordinho, Nobre cleverly sent the rebound of İbrahim Toraman's header returning from the visitor’s goalie into Erciyessspor net and made the score 1-0 in favor of Beşiktaş. Delgado left his place to Serdar Kurtuluş in the 78th minute and since there was no other goal by both teams during the reminder of the game, our Black & Whites won the game 1-0 and pocketed a valuable 3 points.
