Beşiktaş Chess Team closed the Türkiye İş Bankası 2006-2007 Chess season as Champion.

The 2nd stage games started on February 4 in Antalya Kemer Limra Otel and finished after the completion of 17th round games. Playing 15 games and losing only to THY, Beşiktaş finished the season in front of its opponents and won the championship just like it did last year.
The Board Member Nedim Sarsmaz who was with the team during the games, said this victory was a result of hard work and preparation; “Winning this championship in two consecutive seasons is a product of consistent accumulation of knowledge and hard work. This team also won respectable international championships. We finished first in Europe as well. With this undisputed result we are truly happy for us and for our community. We strongly believe that the success of this team will continue in the future.”
The manager of Beşiktaş Chess Branch and team player Umut Atakişi said in spite of losing some of their hopes for finishing first after the defeat to THY, the point losses of their opponents made them champion second time in a row.
