General Ordinary Shareholders Meeting of Beşiktaş for 2006 was held at Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Centre.

General Meeting was attended by President Yıldırım Demirören, Board Members, Council Members, Rating Committee, Auditing Committee together with 855 Members of General Meeting.
Executive and financial reports of Board of Directors were read by Kenan Öner who also pointed out that as of December 31, 2006 the Club’s debt amounted to 39 million 996 thousand and 237 dollars excluding the money owed to Yıldırım Demirören. The Club’s 2007 Budget was accepted as YTL 27 million 750 thousand.
In the General Ordinary Shareholders meeting, Board of Directors was released in terms of executive and financial obligations.
Mentioning the fact that while their presence is only temporary, Beşiktaş will last for ever, Our President Yıldırım Demirören has made this statement to the members during his address of thanks at the end of the meeting: ‘‘You will guide Beşiktaş. I selected only 18 persons out 12 thousand members. I want everybody to support these 18 persons. Beşiktaş belongs to all of us and we are all Beşiktaş supporters. Let us reflect this solidarity to outside and resist against all hostile interventions coming from outside. I thank you all’’
