Our Women’s Volleyball Team visited Galatasaray in Burhan Felek Sports Saloon at the 9th week of first stage games. Our Black&Whites won the derby game 3-0.
Establishing their superiority starting from the first minute of the game, Our Ladies led entering into both technical time outs and won the first with a score of 25-23 which gave them a 1-0 advantage in the game. While dominating the second set with powerful spikes of Eda and Chimil, our team took advantage of host Galatasaray’s defensive errors and controlled the game. Beşiktaş attained a commanding lead in the early part of the set and converted Galatasaray attacks into valuable points for itself with effective defensive blocks. Winning the second set 25-18, our side made the score 2-0.Galatasaray changed its game plan in the third set and caused serious difficulties for our side. As a result the score was kept close and our ladies trailed 24-22 near to the end of game. However, Black&Whites tied the game and went ahead with the points of Bailikova and Eda. The host Yellow&Red Team made a last effort that tied the game once again but was unable to take the lead. The unstoppable spikes of Radostina Chitogoi proved too much for Galatasaray and Our Women's Volleyball Team won the set (27-25) and the derby (3-0).
Playing their first game under the management of new coach Reşat Yazıcıoğlu, Black&Whites by wining this game 3-0 increased its point total to 10 and moved to 4th place in their group.
