Our Football Team lost its away game 3-0 to Gençlerbirliği in the Group D of Fortis Turkish Cup.

Our loyal Capital City Fans did not leave our team alone in game played in Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium and refereed by Bülent Yıldırım. Beşiktaş kicked-off the game and displayed a controlled performance against the long ball attacking foot ball of the home team during the early minutes of the game. Bobo had two good scoring chances during this period and the early attacks of the Gençlerbirliği did not create serious dangers in front of Beşiktaş’s goal.
After the 30th minute of the game Black&Whites increased the tempo of the game and during a corner kick İbrahim Üzülmez came close to changing the score but his effort was brilliantly saved by home side’s keeper Gökhan at the last second. Follow this position, Gençlerberliği staged its first serious appearance in front of our goal but could not make a use of it. As a result first half ended in 0-0 tie.
Gençlerbirliği entered into the second half with unexpected consecutive goals scored in a row. Mehmet Çakır (56th min.) and Engin (59th min.) put home team 2-0 ahead. After Burak Yılmaz replaced İbrahim Toraman in the 62nd min., Draman from Gençlerbirliği made the score 3-0 for Ankara representative. İbrahim Akın left its place to Mehmet Sedef in the 66th minute and neither was able to score additional during the remaining minutes of the game.
