Beşiktaş Cola Turka: 75 – Pınar Karşıyaka: 68

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball Team posted a 75-68 win over visiting Pınar Karşıyaka in the 11th week of Beko Basketball League in BJK Akatlar Sports and Culture Complex.

Starting the game with Reese, Sales Erkan Veyseloğlu, Erdal Bibo and Cevher Özer Beşiktaş Cola Turka was not effective against its opponent during the early minutes of the game. Entering into the 5th minute with a 8-5 lead, visiting Karşıyaka displayed an impressive performance under both baskets and opened up a 6 point gap thanks to İnan Koç’s baskets. However, during the ensuing moments, İzmir representative started to lose its 19-18 superiority to Beşiktaş who was able to snatch the lead in the last minute of the period but red & greans neverthanks were able to complete the first 10 minutes 20-19 in front.
During the start of the second half both teams had difficulty in overcoming each other’s defense so early minutes of the period passed virtually scoreless.
By the time the first minutes of the second period passed without a basket a 3 pointer by Arda gave Black & Whites a 3 point advantage. Later on Beşiktaş Cola Turka had some good chances to open up the game but could not produce required baskets and came empty handed from its scoring attempts. Beşiktaş were more effective under the rim and scored some key 3 pointers but was unable to stop the outside shots of Pınar Karşıyaka. Therefore the period displayed a head to head game and Black & Whites went to locker room with a 35-33 slim lead at the end of the first half.
Making a fast start into the third period Karşıyaka took back the lead with consecutive baskets scored in a row. Despite of a productive effort by Slaughter and İnanç Koç, visiting side could not steal the game away from Beşiktaş Cola Turka who stayed in the game with high percentage three point shots. During the closing minutes Black&Whites again managed to hold on to its slim advantage by could not staged its desired defensive performance. In the third period Beşiktaş Cola Turka displayed a better overall play compared to earlier periods and as a result had had a 3 point superiority at the end of the 30 minutes (56-53).
Entering into final quarter with Jamel Thomas’ 3 pointer Black&Whites got reorganized defensively and did not show the basket to their opponents in the first 6 minutes. Scoring only 6 points during this drought, the visiting Izmir representative tried to keep the score close with an aggressive defensive performance but was unable to stop Reese. The last effort by Pınar Karşıyaka in final 2 minutes reduced the point gap and gave visitors a chance to turn the game over. However, Beşiktaş Cola Turka had no mercy for Egeian representative and who this exciting game with a score of 75-68.
