Beşiktaş Football Club’s General Secretary Kenan Özer, Technical Director Jean Tigana, Manager Ali Gültiken and Players Ali Tandoğan and Serdar Kurtuluş made these comments regarding the game against Çaykur Rizespor:

Kenan Öner: We want to come out of this group successfully and move forward in the Fortis Cup. We wish to bring this cup to our museum again like we did last year. It was a good game for us and we scored 3 well organized goals. It was nice to see Mert Nobre scoring again We have to thank to our fans who are our 12th force in the field for not leaving us alone in this cold weather. I must say, we are gratefull to them.
Jean Tigana: Last year we were quite successful in winning the Turkish Cup under its new formation. This year we want to repeat that performance and take the Cup again. Today we won an another match in our group. But now; without losing our concentration we must get ready for our next game against Gençlerbirliği. Despite of our touh game in UEFA Cup and the end of league for winter break, my players displayed a self-sacrificing performance today. Especially, we were all pleased to see Nobre scoring. I think this goal will be the end of his scoring drought. I also hope that he will receive the fruits of his hard work in the field with new goals in the second part of the league.
Ali Gültiken: It is always nice to see wining with a good performance. I think we played wery well today. Every other game we are increasing the quality of our game. This shows that we are coustantly improving. We have attained a high level of teamwork and self-cnfidence. Nobre’s goal must have taken the pressure off him. We could have scored more goals but the team’s general organization at this stage is more important. We will display a better performance during the second half games. Serdar Kurtuluş is also an important player for us. He may not be taking an active part in our offensive organizations but he is quite effective defensively. He is only 19 years old and getting experience and improving every other day.
Ali Tandoğan: We wanted to continue in UEFA Cup but last game’s unfortunate result made all of us quite unhappy. We had this game scheduled only after 2-3 days since our last game but we had to win at all costs. We do not want to loose the league and the cup at least. We tried to do our best. And Rize also played nearly with its all players. Today we played cleverly and relaxed after finding early goals. Nobre finally scored his goal and was very active on the field as you all saw. I hope he keeps scoring and brings valuable points to us. At the end of the league we are looking much better organized. I wish there was no break at this stage after the team manage to play as a whole body. We have to keep talking about championship during this break and take necessary step for becoming a champion at the end of the season.
Serdar Kurtuluş: When I am on the filed, I am trying to do as much as I can for my team’s success. I wanted to improve my performance every game and eventually get secleted for the national team. I believe I am performing much better compared to the beginning of the season. I am also getting used to my new position. I always listen to my Technical Director and I am trying to do whatever he says on the filed.
