Beşiktaş Technical Director Jean Tigana made these comments after the Bayer Leverkusen game:

\"Besides the first 20 minutes we fought really well. We had a problem on our left side during the early part of the game. However our timely substation overcame this problem. We had some difficulty in air and return balls. It is sad to lose the game in the last 10 minutes. They scored twice from our simple defensive mistakes. We must learn to defend in high level games. Unfortunately time to time we are unable to display an effective defensive performance. As I told you before the game, opposing team had a height advantage over us. They took advantage of this situation throughout the game. Now our goal is to be more successful in league than last year and win the Turkish Cup.\"
