Beşiktaş Football Team posted a valuable (2-1) win over the visiting Belgian Club Brugge in the 4th week of the UEFA Cup Group B game thanks to goals scored by İbrahim Akın (32nd min.) and Ricardinho (69th  min. penalty).

Both teams displayed a controlled game during the early minutes. Getting into a one on one situation with goalie, Nobre wasted a golden scoring opportunity in the 5th minute. A penalty decision was awarded to Club Brugge by Hungarian referee Szolt Szabo in the 13th minute after Vedan Runje’s interference to opposing player inside the penalty zone following a sudden counterattack by the Belgian team. Balaban converted the penalty shot and put the visiting side 1-0 in front.  
However, in the 32nd minute of the first half, taking a clever pass from Ricordinho, Nobre passed the opposing goal keeper and sent the ball into the open net. The ball hit the crossbar and fell in front of İbrahim Akın who made the finishing touch successfully that leveled the game at 1-1. The first half was completed with this score.
Beşiktaş started the second half more willingly. Runje’s superb save of Clement’s header in the 52nd minute prevented a possible second goal for the Belgian side. Technical Director Jean Tigana made two substitutions and brought in Bobo for Kleberson and Burak Yılmaz for Ali Tandoğan in the 60th minute. When the new entry Burak Yılmaz was brought down inside the Club Brugge 18 yard line in the 68th minute, Hungarian referee showed the penalty spot for the second time in the game. Our Brazilian international Rihardinho did not waste his chance and gave the lead to Beşiktaş (2-1). İbrahim Akın was sent of in the 82nd minute after receiving his second yellow card.   
Since there was no other goal in the game, Beşiktaş recorded its first 3 points of the qualifying games with a 2-1 victory over Club Brugge. In the other group match Dinamo Bucharest defeated Bayern Leverkusen with a score of 2-1 and guaranteed the second stage. Beşiktaş will also take part in the next stage of the tournament even if it ties with Bayern Leverkusen in its away game to be played on December 14.
