Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball Team posted a 94-76 away victory over Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi in the 7th week of the League.

Played in Mersin Edip Burhan Sports Saloon, Beşiktaş Cola Turka jumped into an 8-2 early lead by the baskets of Thomas, Cevher and Reese in the first 2 minutes of the game. While Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi tried to respond with Ümit but our Black&Whites with a score of 17-6 increased their advantage to 11 points 6 minutes and 11 seconds left in the period. Utilizing their opponents mistakes Beşiktaş Cola Turca wrapped up the period 28-17 in front.
Starting the second period with Jerry Johnson, Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi began to reduce the difference by the extra points from Ümit Sonkol and Umut Tınay. Despite of overcoming the home side’s zone-defense with Sales and Erkan, Black & whites could not stopped the out side shots of their opponents and the score was 36-29 in favor of Beşiktaş Cola Turka 5 minutes and 49 seconds to go in the period. Being quite effective offensively, Mersin first reduced the deficit to 1 point which made the score 42-41 and then took the lead by the last second 3-pointer shot from Wilson at the end of the first half . Beşiktaş Cola Turka started the third period with Thomas’s 3-pointer and thanks to Reese’s basket had a 5-0 rally. However the stubborn Mersin Büyüksehir went into the lead again through the baskets of Ümit and Wilson 51-47. Our Black& Whites finally leveled the game's score by the additional 4 points of Cevher. Exchanging baskets with its opponent Beşiktaş Cola Turka secured a 65-61 lead before the last period.
Unable to stop the baskets from Sales and Erkan, Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi tried to stay in the game with Ümit Sonkol’s baskets in the fourth period. However with the addition of Thomas’ scoring power Beşiktaş opened the point gap and entered the last 5 minutes 81-69 front. Taking control of the game thanks to the outside shots of Reese our Beşiktaş Cola Turka won the game with a score of 94-79 and registered its 5th victory in the league.
