Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball Team, hosting Kastoria CAC of Greece in the second game of the FIBA European Cup Group B, grabbed a 90-55 triumph over its opponent and had its second victory.
The game was played at BJK Akatlar Sports & Culture Complex. Black & White team began the game with the first five consisting of Yasemin Horasan, Tuğba Palazoğlu, Lovelace, Esmeral Tunçluer and Sam. Black & White team took the lead in the first few minutes thanks to the baskets scored by Esmeral and Yasemin. Beşiktaş Cola Turka, performing well under the rim and scoring points despite all efforts of its opponent, wrapped up the period in the lead with a commanding gap (23-12).Beşiktaş Cola Turka began the second quarter with high tempo and increased the gap even more with the baskets scored in three minutes. Black & White players increased the gap to 21 points (38-17) after the basket scored by Şebnem Kimyacıoğlu, had control of the game and put Kastoria to a really hard position after the series of baskets scored by Lovelace. Beşiktaş went to the locker room 51-30 leading.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka, playing with the tempo of the first part of the game, continued to increase the gap with the baskets scored in a row. Greeks, trying its luck with outer shots but lacking success once again, tried to reduce the gap with baskets they scored in the last few minutes. However, Beşiktaş Cola Turka finished the period 72-50 in the lead.
Greeks tried to be effective against Black & White players, who also maintained their leading performance in the last period, with Georiou and Pantazi. Kastoria, unable to stop Lovelace and Esmeral, could not stop the rise in the deficit. Beşiktaş Cola Turka won the game 90-55 and grabbed the second victory in its group.
