Visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball team beat Darüşşafaka (73-7 0) at the 5th week of Beko Basketball League in Abdi İpekçi Sport Saloon.
Begining the game with Reese, Barış Özcan, Ostojic, Barış Güney ve Brooks Sales first five our Beşiktaş Cola Turka men's Basketbol Team had a fast start to the game and immediately went a head with 7 points scored in the first minute. However, give away points under our own basket endangered our lead. At the 5th minute the score was (16-13) in favor of Beşiktaş and Ostojiç was keeping the Black and Whites in the game against relentless Daçka attacks. He not only made key blocks but also produced some key points. Entering the last minute with a 6 points advantage, Beşiktaş completed the period with a score of (27-23) thanks to a high percentage of free throws.Starting the second period with easy baskets Daçka reduced the difference to 1 point at the 12th minute (28-27) and tied the score with Polat Kocaoğlu’s basket at 14th minute (30-30). Then Marco’s free throw shots put Green and Blacks in front for the first time in the game. From that time on Reese took the center stage and his back to backs baskets did not allow Daçka to widen their scoring advantage. At the 17th minute of the game the host was ahead (44-39) and due lack of scoring by Beşiktaş closed the half (46-42) in front.
In the third period both teams relied on their tightened up defense and were unable to score baskets. The technical points by Reese brought our Beşiktaş Cola Turka Basketball Team on top once again (48-46) and the period was closed (59-57) in favor of Black and Whites.
Barış Özcan’s three point shot widened the difference to 5 points and thanks to our young captain's baskets Beşiktaş stayed ahead (69-65) at the 33th minute of this close game. However crucial points from Dobbie and Soner for Daçka tied the score at 68 each three minutes before the game. During this period Beşiktaş was unable to score from inside and relied on outside shots. The score was tied (70-70) entering the last minute. Reese's superb basket with 7 seconds to go put our team ahead for good.(72-70) and Levent made the final basket of the game (73-70). .
Beşiktaş’s Barış Özcan was the top scorer of the match with 25 points. The remaining baskets were shared between Reese (19), Ostjiç (9), Erkan Veyseloğlu (7), Brook Sales (7), Barış Güney (3), Cevher Özer (2) and Levent Bilgin (1).
