Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball Team posted a 79-72 victory over its archrival Fenerbahçe at 14th President’s Cup. With this victory, the Black & White team took the Cup to its museum for the first time in its history and won the rematch from the past season.

Beşiktaş Cola Turka, losing the Cup to its opponent last year after being defeated against Fenerbahçe at 13th President’s Cup, played better in the game that was played at Ankara Atatürk Sports Hall. Black & White players wrapped up the first period 19-20 tracking but widened the gap in the second period and went to the locker room with a 39-32 lead. Beşiktaş Cola Turka, reaching a deficit of 16 points at one time in the 3rd period, finished the quarter 58-48 leading as well. Last period was very contentious and, despite minor mistakes, Black & White maintained its lead in the score, won a 79-72 triumph over its opponent and grabbed the President’s Cup for the first time in its history.
The Cup was raised high in Yasemin’s Hands
Beşiktaş Ladies, cheering with joy on the court after the game was over, shared the great victory with its fans. Flowers were thrown from the grandstand to the players. Turgay Demirel, President of the Basketball Federation, gave the first place medals to Beşiktaş Cola Turka. After that, Kemal Nevrozoğlu, General Secretary of the Presidency, presented the Cup to Captain Yasemin Horasan. The players posed for the press with the Cup was raised high up in Yasemin’s hands.
Players Esmeral Tunçluer and Tuğba Palazoğlu, and the Coach Aziz Akkaya stated their feelings after the game as follows:
Esmeral Tunçluer: We think the fans enjoyed watching the game. We played great throughout the game from the first moment and grabbed a rightful victory. This is the first time that we won the President’s Cup; we are very happy about it, this is our gift to the fans. 
Tuğba Palazoğlu: We played great as a team. We proved all our strength on the court. We were aware of the importance of this game. We are delighted. If we play like this, I think no one will be able to stop us in the new season.
Aziz Akkaya: This victory is our gift to our Chairman, the Board of Directors, the Beşiktaş Community and the fans. We are a good team; we will grab all cups in the new season.
Yahya Kemal Gençer: “We had a great victory”
Yahya Kemal Gençer, Head of the Basketball Committee, said “We had a great victory. Our Ladies are proud to have taken the first President’s Cup of Beşiktaş history to our museum. This is a result of 3-year hard work. It indicates the importance our Chairman put on the amateur branches. God willing, our Ladies will win the Championship Cup also.” 
 
On the other hand, Şenol Demirağ, Captain of the Basketball Branch, stated his feelings as follows:” We are happy to have taken the President’s Cup to our museum, to our Club for the first time in our history. Success of the Women’s Basketball Team will increase more and more each day. Let this bring goodness for the whole Beşiktaş Community. We will begin the new season with a cup. I congratulate all my players and the technical staff.”
