Our Men’s Basketball Team beat TOFAŞ (65-61) at the first game of Tadım Turkish Cup.

Our starting line up was made of Aubrey Reese, Erkan Veyseloğlu, Jamel Thomas, Levent Bilgin and Djuro Ostojic. At the end of the first four minute our team was ahead 5-2 thanks to the points of Aubrey Reese. Despite of the fact that TOFAŞ tied the score in 9th minute at 10 each, the first period resulted (15-12) in favor of Beşiktaş.
The second period started with both team attacking and scoring against each other. Beşiktaş was able to open up an 9 points difference with Jamel Thomas’s back to back points in 14th minute (27-18). However, taking advantage of some Beşiktaş defensive lapses, TOFAŞ closed the gap to 2 points in the 18th minute. Nevertheless our side went to the dressing room leading (34-33) at the end of two periods.
TOFAŞ had an effective start in the third period and caught an 8 point advantage at 24th minute (37-45). Beşiktaş could not get organized both in defense and defense so they closed the third period (42-51) behind. 
Playing much better in the last period our team came back to within 5 points thanks to Jamel Thomas' points and technical throw 7 minutes left in the game (46-51). From that point on Beşiktaş speeded up the tempo and tied the score at (52-52) by consecutive points from Erkan Veyseloğlu while entering the last five minutes of the game. 
Continuing on fast breaks, our team broke the tie with Aubrey Reese’s fault throws and achieved a 4 point difference with captain Barış Özcan. Djuro Ostojic, Aubrey Reese and Barış Özcan all scored in the last minute and Beşiktaş left the saloon with a (65-61) hard deserved win.
