Beşiktaş Football Team suffered the defeat in the first match of 2006-2007 season 1-0 against Vestel Manisaspor.

The very first minutes of the match were played as a middle-field tackle under the hot weather. Vestel Manisaspor got the lead when Czech player Meduna scored at 28th minute. Beşiktaş threatened the goal with head shoots of Fahri Tatan and Gökhan Zan in the first half but Vestel’s goalkeeper was successful in blocking the ball in both positions. The first half ended 1-0 with the lead of Vestel Manisaspor.  
Beşiktaş Technical Director Jean Tigana substituted Gökhan Güleç with Bobo and Fahri Tatan with Serdar Kurtuluş in the beginning of the second half. Thereafter Baki Mercimek left his position to İbrahim Akın at 60th minute. Beşiktaş dominated the play and made effective attacks from the wings during the second half. Head shoot of Gökhan Zan was blocked by the goal post at 77th minute. Black&White team could not find the longing score and the match ended with the victory of Vestel Mansaspor.
