BEŞİKTAŞ IS THE CHAMPION

Beşiktaş Wheelchair Basketball Team defeated İzmir Metropolitan Municipality 79-69 in the final match of the final series and thanks to 3-2 series, the team completed 2005-2006 season as a Champion. 

When Beşiktaş was defeated by its rival 53-51 in the third match of the series played in İzmir, the series is equalized by 2-2. During the final match that was going to determine the Champion, played one day after the defeat, there was a great challenge on the field. Completed in draw with 63-63 score, Black & White team defeated its rival 79-69 during the extra time and became Champion again as in the last season. After the match, Beşiktaş players, technical staff and supporters had a great joy. 
Member of the Board of Directors, Süleyman Eren said “Consequently, we are again the Champion of this year and take the deserved pride of becoming Champion in a row in 2 years. We give this cup as a gift to our President Mr. Yıldırım Demirören and Beşiktaş Community”.
And General Manager of the Physically Handicapped Players Department Erdem Göksel said “It was a though championship but we got the cup. Referees almost had a campaign against Beşiktaş. All of our supporters, staff and everyone became a collective body. We struggled only for the success of Beşiktaş. And therefore, we handled the cup, righteous and proud". 
Living the happiness of completing a hard season as Champion, Coach Mehmet Önüt put his emotion in words: "All the matches we played were hard. But at the end, we had what we deserved. During the final match, both teams tried to challenge in a fair-play. Without leaving our playing discipline and sportsman personality, we struggled till the end of the match and received everybody's appreciation. We are happy to bring the cup we deserved into our museum”.
"We are very happy. We experienced our second Championship. It was a little hard. We could have won the series more easily but we could not. Let this championship be a gift for all Beşiktaş supporters" said the successful player Mehmet Arpak.
