Beşiktaş Wheelcahir Basketball Team  posted a commanding 83-67 victory over İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Basketball Team in the second match of the play off final series played at home, BJK Süleyman Seba Sports Hall and took the leadership in the series by 2-1.

Giving a hasty start in the second match of the series, Black & White team got ahead of its rival by continuous scores. However, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality when began using under the hoop better, equalized the game and the first period ended 14-14. 
There was a high stress and tension in the second period. While Beşiktaş team continued its dominance in the field with reciprocal scores, İzmir took the lead when scored at 15. Facing difficulty in scoring during the offense, Beşiktaş could not block the outer shoots of its rival and therefore İzmir continued its leadership with 7 points difference. Expanding in the field and blocking its rival’s attacks, even though Beşiktaş reduced the difference with consecutive scores during the last two minutes, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Team went to the locker-room ahead with a score of 41-35. 
Beginning the second half fast, Beşiktaş equalized the score with consecutive scores in the first minute and took the lead when Bülent scored (43-41). Forcing our team with İsmail and Özgür, İzmir equalized the game in the following minutes. When Beşiktaş failed to keep its effective play during the last minutes, the rival took the lead again. Even though Beşiktaş took the lead with reciprocal scores during the last 2 minutes, blue & white team closed the third quarter ahead in 60-57.
Beşiktaş which used the offensive plays well against İzmir that started the last period by making the difference by 6 with a 3-point shot of İsmail Boyraz, made it 63-63 when Mehmet Akın scored at 32. During its effective minutes under the hoop, Black & White team made the difference 6 points with the shoots of Kaan and Bülent (69-63) and relieved. Blocking the offensive ways of the Aegean team and giving no chance, Beşiktaş made the difference 10 points (73-63) at 36 when Mehmet Akın scored during the period at the beginning of which the team was behind by 6 points. Entering the last minute 79-65 lead, in the final quarter, Black & White team could succeed getting the game in which it generally fell behind. In this very critical match for the championship, Beşiktaş focused on the result with good shoots at the right moments and won the match 83-67 while only giving its rival to score 7 points. Therefore Beşiktaş made it 2-1 in the final series. Remaining matches of the final stage will be played in İzmir in a date to be designated by the federation. 
Reporting to www.bjk.com.tr after the match, Beşiktaş Sports Club Board of Directors Member Süleyman Eren said we missed a big chance in the first match and added: “Today’s victory is both a relief for yesterday and a great advantage in the series. As in the last year, we will conclude the final in İzmir and return to Istanbul with the cup.”
