Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball Team lost against Fenerbahçe by a 3 point margin (78-75) in the rival’s home.  It, which was the first game of the play off final series, was played at Caferağa Sports Hall.

Making a good start to the game, Beşiktaş took the lead in the first few minutes thanks to the baskets scored by Johnson. Fenerbahçe, trying to be effective with Nevriye at Beşiktaş’s rim, got ahead after the points posted by foul shots. But, Ladies of Beşiktaş, being the better team of the game at offense, outscored by 2 points in the lead at 7th minute.  Fenerbahçe did not have problems in taking advantage of the last minute opportunities and wrapped up the first quarter 22-20 leading.
Making a fast paced start to the second period also, Beşiktaş stopped Zanze and Gardner under the rim and weakened Fenerbahçe’s offensive power. Black & White team scored points from outside in this period thanks to Şebnem, and was in 33-31 lead with a few minutes to play. Yellow & Navy players scored points in the foul shots with 13 seconds remaining in the first half, and then leveled the score (33-33). When Johnson scored two points for Beşiktaş in the foul shots, Black & White team regained the lead in the derby (35-55), which was the score on the board as the first half ended.
Ladies of Beşiktaş were also rulers of the court in the first few minutes of the third period. Black & White team outscored its rival by 5 points by the series of baskets under the rim thanks to Roberts and Johnson. Both teams produced points in this quarter but Fenerbahçe first leveled the score and then took the lead when Beşiktaş returned empty handed from three attacks.  Black Eagle got ahead by 3 points (49-46) in 27th minute but could not stop the three pointer by Nilay Yiğit in the last second and the third set was finished with a 50-50 tie.
Nilay Yiğit scored a 3 pointer for Yellow & Navy in the beginning of the last period, and Zanze’s basket that came afterwards increased the deficit to 5 points. Fenerbahçe kept the 5-point margin thanks to contributions of Gardner and Şaziye, then increased the margin to 10 points after Nilay’s 3-pointer in 34th minute. After Fenerbahçe returned empty handed from 3 attacks in a row and Amachere Mactebene scored 6 points for Beşiktaş, the gap came down to 4 points. Black & White team decreased the deficit to 1 point following Johnson’s basket under the rim with 2 minutes to play. Mactebene put Beşiktaş 66-65 ahead in the last minute. The score was leveled again when Fenerbahçe scored another point in a foul throw.
With 14.50 seconds to play, the scoreboard malfunctioned and the game stopped. Then, as the board got fixed, the game restarted.  Şebnem Kimyacıoğlu tried a 3-pointer without a success, official game period ended and the game continued in the extended time (66-66).
Nevriye scored the first point for Fenerbahçe in the extended time. When White scored point in the foul shot, Fenerbahçe got ahead by 4 points. Our rival was ahead (74-70) with 2 minutes to play and Black & White team could not produce points in its attacks, and thus Fenerbahçe grabbed a 78-75 triumph in the game.
After the result, Beşiktaş was 1-0 behind in the final series.
