Our Chairman Yıldırım Demirören addressed to our Community in the foreword in the Beşiktaş Journal dated April 2006:
Dear Beşiktaş Fans,
All of our branches, from Football to Basketball, from Handball to our Physically Disabled Team, reflect the culture and traditions of Beşiktaş on the playing fields.
Our teams, who struggle until their last drop of sweat in order to win, who even if they lose leave the field with their heads held high from the pride of their struggle, get their energy from the soul of Beşiktaş. They achieve success through their own struggles and have won the esteem of all fans, regardless of which team the fans support. Following on last year’s glorious history, they are heading again this year with strong steps towards another championship.
For more championships and success this season, like what we experienced last year after waiting 20 – 30 years, the most important elements are full and enthusiastic grandstands at every game of our Women’s Basketball Team, Men’s Basketball Team, Handball Team, Wheel Chair Basketball Team, Track and Field Team and our other teams.
Let’s continue to support our teams on their way to new championships.
Dear Beşiktaş Fans,
We renewed our contract with Mr. Jean Tigana, who quickly won the approval of both our community and the sports society with his personality that is well-matched to our club’s principles and his great knowledge of football that was evident from the day he started to work on our football team.
Having extended our partnership with Mr. Tigana for two more years, we have taken the most important step on the way to reaching the key of success – stability – which is our first target in football. Now our target is, through a movement towards rejuvenation that we started in our football team, both to ensure that our community members experience the happiness they deserve and to guarantee our future with a successful generation.
My request from our community is to give every kind of support to these young people, who, growing in the traditions of our Black and White uniforms, will be the stars of the future.
With my deepest affection and respect,
BJK Chairman of the Board of Directors
