Beşiktaş General Secretary Kenan Öner, Vice-President Kıvanç Oktay and star players Sergen Yalçın and Tümer Metin said as follows after the game:

Kenan Öner:  “We played the football. We should have won the game. We found net positions, whereas Fenerbahçe scored goals out of confusion. We do not have ulterior motives about the referees, but they should be a little more objective. He did not show cards to Fenerbahçe for fouls which were worse than the positions we were shown cards for. The decision preventing entrance of our fans into the stadium was wrong. But we respect the decision given by the authorities.”
Kıvanç Oktay: “We are sad. We fought very hard. I congratulate the whole team. We are sad because we had to fight in such a game without any fans in the stadium. The referee caused suspicions on the game. I want the referee to watch the game again on TV and listen to his conscious. There are many positions. There are penalties which were not awarded and cards which were not shown. The fans were not allowed to come in claiming that they are being rowdy, but coins were thrown at the head of our coach, and our assistant coach was hit in the head by an object thrown 8-9 times. Everyone is sad. Sadness is in the air in the locker room, because it was a game that we should have won.”
Sergen Yalçın: “We played very well. We fought very hard but were blocked by the referee. We expected him to whistle in the position involved Tümer, he put it in his mouth and almost whistled, but then he did not. We did not understand what he did. Fenerbahçe commits a foul in every position or causes a corner. He did not whistle foul in our favor even once. We played better in the second half but we are not happy with the referees. Our fans could not show up but we did our best for them.”
Tümer Metin: “It was a good game. Our willingness to turn the game around was great. We have been undefeated here for 5 years. The God did not mislead us. We again played well and did not lose. The referee used his discretionary in favor of Fenerbahçe. If you ask me the position which I freed myself from Tuncay was a penalty, even some Fenerbahçe players admitted that. What Serkan did in the last position was a foul but he did not whistle for that either. I congratulate all my teammates for their efforts and having played so well that they deserved a victory. Finally, I would like to say that the tradition remained the same we did not lose this time either.
