The visiting team Çaykur Rizespor kicked off the game which was administered by Oktay Demiray, the referee. While the first few minutes of the game were played in the mid-field, Beşiktaş tried to be effective in the rival penalty zone through using the wings.

The Black & White players pushed the game into the rival semi-field after the 15th minute, and created some significant positions at Çaykur Rizespor goal by İbrahim Akın, Bobo and Gökhan Güleç. But the first half ended with 0-0 since there was no goal scored in such attacks.
İbrahim Akın was replaced by Sergen Yalçın in the beginning of the 2nd half. Ünal, kicking the ball from a distance, scored a goal at the 53rd minute and put Çaykur Rizespor 1-0 ahead. While, young player Kenan Özer replaced Bobo at the 63rd minute, another player coming from our junior team, Rıza Şen, replaced Tomas Jun at the 70th minute. Since neither team scored any goal in the remaining minutes of the game, The Black & White team left the field 1-0 tracking.
