Beşiktaş Chess Team, which won 6 victories out of 6 games in the end of the 2nd stage competitions in Mersin, kept its 2nd place in the league with one missing game.

Winning the 5 matches played previously, Beşiktaş Chess Team did not give any opportunity to its opponents in Mersin.  Black & White team, grabbing 6-2 victories over Antalya and TED College, had the following triumphs over its opponent: Mersin (7-1), Karşıyaka (8-0), Bursa (7-1) and Yalova Municipality (7.5 – 0.5). Beşiktaş, following the aforesaid results, kept its 2nd place in the league with 19 teams with one missing match.
Süleyman Eren, director of the table tennis, handicapped sports, bridge, motor sports, and chess branches, said our internet site after the matches that as Beşiktaş Club they did another first and opened the Chess Branch following Handicapped Sports Branch and Bridge Branch, and added:
“We realized another first by forming a branch for chess sport within Beşiktaş Club, a brain sport which can be played easily by all ages young and old alike. We would like to continue the success we had with the Handicapped and Bridge Branches, with Chess also. Our team, which won all its matches in the first league with 19 teams, is at the 2nd place with a missing game now. This is a great success.
