Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team was the hosting team at Akatlar in the first game of the second half against Türk Telekom. The Black & White team, having the superb support of the fans, posted a 79-66 victory over its opponent and won the rematch of the first game.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka began the game with Kimani Ffriend, Kerem Tunçeri, Tyrone Ellis, Michael Wright and Barış Özcan; the team was far from performing the way they had really wanted in the first part. Türk Telekom, profiting from fact attacks, was in 8-3 lead at 4th minute thanks to points scored by Erwin and Tutku Açık. Telekom, which tried to stop the hosting team with hard defense, was in 15-13 lead with two minutes to play. The Black & White players tried to score points at the opponent’s rim with Kerem Tunçeri and Michael Wright; tied the score at 17-17 thanks to Kerem’s effective foul shots in the last few seconds. The first period ended with that result.Trying to be effective under the rim in the second period also, Beşiktaş Cola Turka began taking the lead with the points scored and was 21-20 ahead at 14th minute. Telekom, playing a tough game in offense, tied the score at 24-24 at 16th minute and took the lead 1 minute after that thanks to Haluk Yıldırım (26-25). Mithat Demirel scored a few three points in a row and put Beşiktaş 31-25 ahead and the Black & White team wrapped up the first half 35-29 leading.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka was in control of the game in the second half. The Black & White team led the game in any way it wanted and did not let its opponent to score much; blockaded the rival rim with Kerem Tunçeri and Wright, and increased the deficit. The Black & White players, that were superior to their opponents in offense and rebounds, finished the 5th period 51-38 leading.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka, relaxing thanks to the lead it had in score, slowed down the tempo in the game; won the fight with 79-66 after three pointers by Ellis and Kerem, points scored by Wright and Ffriend. With that result, Beşiktaş Cola Turka won the rematch of the game it had lost in the first fight of the season.
While Michael Wright, who posted 24 points in the game, was the most scorer player of Beşiktaş Cola Turka, other players and the points they scored were as follows: Kerem Tunçeri (19), Kimani Ffriend (13), Mithat Demirel (8), Tyrone Ellis (7), Barış Özcan and Rodney Elliott (4 points each).
