Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball Team had a tremendous joy after the game played against Lille Metropole. Coach Aziz Akkaya said that they succeeded a first by making the quarter final and their goal was to get the cup.

Aziz Akkaya said in the statement he made after the game: “This is the first time we advanced to the quarter final, but there are many more things to do. If we can win a game with such a large gap, there is no reason why we can not win the cup. Now, our goal is grand. We are the only team representing Turkey in Europe. We are aware of our responsibility.”
Şenol Demirağ, Captain of the Basketball Branch, on the other hand stated his feelings as follows: “We have to thank our President Yıldırım Demirören, the Board of Directors and Yahya Kemal Gençer that put a lot of energy for creation of that team.  Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball Team is on its way to the goal. God willing, first we will make the top four teams in Europe and then make the finals. We thank very much everyone that supports us here.”
Yasemin Horasan from the Black & White team who, with her successful performance, had a significant impact on the victory said “We have been playing very stable and very high level of basketball and doing good things in the last two years. We became the champion last year, but this was not the end of it for us; it was the beginning. Today, we are fighting in Europe, we achieved a first and made the top 8 teams.   Lille Metropole is a very strong team but we were focused very well. We won the game easily. We intimidated them with the basketball we played and grabbed the victory. But still we have a lot to do. We particularly want to make the finals without losing any games and then make the final.”
