Beşiktaş Cola Turka: 73 ESB Lille Metropole: 44

Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball Team posted a 73-44 victory over ESB Lille Metropole of France in the 3rd round rematch game of FIBA European Cup, which was played at BJK Akatlar Sports and Culture Complex, and made the quarter final.

Beginning the game with the five the players; Şebnem Kimyacıoğlu, Yasemin Horasan, Nyree Roberts, Jaclyn Johnson and Laine Selwyn, Beşiktaş had an unbelievable lead over its opponent in the first period of the game. Beşiktaş Cole Turka, which began scoring points with the 3 pointer made by Şebnem Kimyacıoğlu, had 19 points in the first 5 minutes against the French team thanks to the three points scored one after another; where as the opponent team scored only 2 points. L. While Metropole, could score the 2 points through a foul shot, returned empty-handed from the attacks it developed, Beşiktaş Cole Turka was 21-7 in the lead with 1 minute to play thanks to the points scored in a row by Johnson and Şebnem. Black & White players wrapped up this period 26-7 leading.
Home team had control of the court in the second period also. Beşiktaş Cole Turka, not giving any chance to its opponent under the rim, forced its rival to attempt scoring through outer shots. French players could not score easily with three pointers they tried and had difficulty in scoring in this period. L. Metropole, trying to respond to its opponent through Tatum Brown, had problems stopping Müjde, Johnson and Nihan in attacks, and thus Beşiktaş Cole Turka maintained the 20 point gap and went to the locker room 44-19 in the lead.
Beşiktaş Cole Turka, keeping up its superb game of the first half in the second half also, was triggered with the fans’ cheers. Starting the third period with points scored by  Şebnem Kimyacıoğlu, the Black & White team increased the gap up to 32 points by 23rd minute. Beşiktaş was leading 59-24 in the game, of which Johnson was the star,  with one minute  remaining and completed the third period 59-26 in the lead.
Black & White players, maintaining their absolute lead over the opponent in the last period, slowed down and directed the game in the way they wanted. Beşiktaş Cola Turka, which displayed a magnificent performance in defense and offense from the first minute on, had a 73-44 commanding triumph over the French team ESB Lille Metropole, which had been undefeated at away games, and pushed it out of the cup.
Our Black & White pearls made the quarter final for the first time in history. Beşiktaş Cola Turka will play against Salamanka from Spain in the quarter final.
