Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball Team scored 25 points more than its archrival Fenerbahçe in the first week of the second half. Wrapping up the game played at Akatlar with a 74-49 victory, the Black & White team got the leadership crown from its opponent.

Beşiktaş Cola Turka performed a superb play at Akatlar Sports & Culture Complex in the first game of the second half, grabbed a commanding victory with 25 point difference over its archrival. Beşiktaş Cola Turka won the rematch and put an end to the opponent’s undefeated title and took the top place with 23 points.
Fenerbahçe took control of the game in the first period thanks to scoring performance of Powell and wrapped up the first quarter 17-11 leading. Making a fast start into the second period, Beşiktaş Cola Turka closed the gap with baskets scored by Şebnem and tied the score (22-22) at 16th minute with the point scored by Selwyn throwing a free shot. Black & White team, making an effective defense, took the lead in the same minute thanks to Yasemin’s basket, and widened the deficit in a short period of time (24-22)
While Powell from Fenerbahçe, who was effective in the first period, could not score in the second period; the Yellow & Navy team tried to respond with points scored by Şaziye and Zanze. However, Beşiktaş Cola Turka continued its effective performance and wrapped up the half with 9 points difference, 33-24 leading. While the Black & White players scored 22 points in this period, Fenerbahçe could only score 7 points. Beşiktaş Cola Turka grabbed total of 22 rebounds in the first half of the game, whereas Fenerbahçe had only 11 rebounds.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka began the second half with 3-pointers scored by Selwyn and Şebnem, and increased the deficit to 15 points (39-24) in 22nd minute. Fenerbahçe could score its first basket in this period at 24th minute; and despite its efforts to trim the gap by Powell’s baskets, the Black & White players did not allow that and wrapped up the 3rd period with 18 points difference and a 54-39 lead.
Making a good start into the last period also, Beşiktaş Cola Turka did not let its opponent to score points for 4 minutes, and increased the gap to 29 points (65-36) in 34th minute thanks to Johnson and Şebnem. Black & White team played a relaxed game in the remaining minutes of the game, posted a 74-49 victory, increased its point to 23 and became the leader.
