Beşiktaş Cola Turka:79 Spirou Charleroi:56

Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team, hosting Spirou Charleroi from Belgium at BJK Akatlar Sports & Culture Complex in the 9th game of ULEB Cup Group C, grabbed a 79-56 triumph over its opponent.

Beşiktaş began the game with 5 players; Tyron Ellis, Michael Wright, Mithat Demirel, Kimani Ffriend and Barış Özcan, and had difficult time in the first few minutes into the game. Beşiktaş, which began scoring points after the 3rd minute, responded by Michael Wright to the points scored by its opponent, and trimmed the gap down to 2 points (12-10) at the 6th minute. The Black & White players, who tried to score points with outer shots, returned empty-handed from the last attempts and wrapped up the first period 19-16 tracking.
Beşiktaş had the complete control of the court in the second quarter. While both teams mutually scored points first few moments, the Black & White team took the lead for the first time at 16th minute of the game thanks to the three-pointer threw by Mithat Demirel (28-16). Black Eagle, which intensely threw shots at the opponent’s rim after that minute, completed the first half 43-37 leading.
The Black & White players began the second half good also and increased the gap up to ten points thanks to points scored by Ffriend (47-37). Beşiktaş performed well in defense and did not give any space to move for its opponent under the rim, and took the lead 50-37 at 24th minute against its opponent from Belgium. While Spirou Charleroi could not score any point in the first 8 minutes of the second half, Beşiktaş was in the lead 58-42 by the end of the third quarter thanks to points scored by Barış Özcan.
Beşiktaş took total control of the game in the last part of the game. The Black & White players widened the gap considerably in the last 5 minutes and increased the score to 77-54 thanks to contributions by Wright, Ffriend, Barış Özcan as well as three-pointers scored by Mithat Demirel. Beşiktaş also scored points in a row thanks to Mithat in the last minutes of the game and left the court 79-56 leading. The Black & White was able to maintain its chance to advance to the next round to the last game after this victory.
