Dear Besiktas Supporters,
Every New Year is a new beginning, a new reason for excitement as we build on the accumulation of previous years. Year 2006, at which our Besiktas will turn 103 years old, will be a year represented by pride and hope.
The greatest honor I’ve achieved in my life is becoming the board chairman of my Besiktas. Whoever understands best the value of this honor and its high status is among the supporters of Besiktas who carry in their hearts the same honor. Being part of Besiktas and love for Besiktas are so very different and priceless that throughout every moment of one’s life it beats in one’s heart and surpasses every love in one’s life.
Being part of Besiktas is the love for a plane tree that has turned a century and still keeps its head upright.
Service to my Besiktas is my greatest goal in life and my source of pride. Because of this love, I have worked very hard to succeed and I will continue to do so.
Although the last season created champion Besiktas teams in almost every branch, we were distressed for not achieving the successes expected from our Football Team. We have experienced the distress that the Besiktas community has felt hundreds of times over. However, in order to achieve success, to face difficult days and not be afraid, one has to be unified and together. Here our greatest strength is loving Besiktas so much that we would never abandon it.
In order to achieve what was best for our Besiktas and to make a new beginning, through the career of our football and technical director, we brought to the head of our team Tigana who has achieved a rightful place for himself. Just as Besiktas advanced with Tigana in typical years in the past, with the college spirit team that new stars have brought to Turkish football and with the successes that they have won, it will be a team that other teams will look at with envy. Essential changes will be made with this purpose in mind.
With our culture of honesty, work and rightful honor that is so important and basic to success, our Besiktas will continue always to shine like a light.
