Beşiktaş tied with Zenit Saint Petersburg (1-1) in UEFA Cup Group H, 3rd game in BJK İnönü Stadium

Beşiktaş, under cheers of the fans in the grandstand, kicked off the game which was played on a rainy day in BJK İnönü Stadium.
Having control of the field from the first minute on in the game, Beşiktaş made its opponent stay in its own field thanks to the attacks made one after another and scored the goal it was looking for at the 23rd minute by İbrahim Akın, and took the lead 1-0. While Zenit, grabbing its first opportunity in the game at 29th minute, evened the score (1-1) by Gorshkov, the Black & White team almost blockaded the Russian opponent’s goal after the tie in the game. The ball hit the goal post when İbrahim Akın kicked the ball targeting the goal at 33rd minute and Sergen Yalçın kicked a free kick at 38th minute, and the first 45 minutes ended with 1-1.
While the game in the first moments of the second half was played in the mid-field, Beşiktaş tried to score in Zenith’s goal with passes kicked towards behind the opponent’s defense line. The Black Eagle, attacking the opponent’s goal from all angles, tried to score a goal, whereas Zenith was in defense. The tempo slowed down later in the game, and the fight ended with a tie (1-1) since there was not any other goal in the remaining minutes.
