Hosting Ülkerspor, which is on the candidates for championship, at the 7th week of the league, Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team posted a 66-63 victory by getting its fans magnificent support.
The fans that filled the BJK Akatlar Sport & Culture Complex to provide support for Beşiktaş Cola Turca, which defeated the strong Efes Pilsen last week, played a major role in the victory with their grand support.The Black & White Team, playing a reserved game in the first part of the most important game of the week, could not stop Haislip. The home team made mistakes in its defense and could not stop Ülker’s attacks even though it tried to be effective with Kornegay, and finished the first period with 17-8 tracking.
Beşiktaş Cola Turca, which could not increase its tempo of the first period in the second period either, was far from hitting the bull’s eye with the outer shots its players threw. Having difficulty in stopping Haislip, the Black & White players had hard time scoring under the rim also due to performance of Haislip in defense, and went to the locker room 29-35 tracking.
On the other hand, the Black & White team dominated the third period. Overwhelming the defense of Ülker as a team, Beşiktaş Cola Turca made fewer mistakes in defense, reduced the gap and eventually tied the score thanks to the three-pointer scored by Mithat Demirel. The home team took the lead for the first time in the game with the basket scored by Wright (43-41).
The last period was stressful for both teams. While both teams entered the last minute of the 4th quarter with even scores, the three-pointer scored by Elliot in the last minute put Beşiktaş 62-59 ahead. The Black & White players, which did not lose its lead from that point on, left the Hall 66-63 winning. Beşiktaş, with this result, continued its claim for the top and won its 6th game in a row. Beşiktaş Cola Turca defeated its most important opponents, Efes Pilsen and then Ülker on the way to championship. Kerem Tunçeri was the most scorer player in Beşiktaş Cola Turca with 18 points which he scored.
