Technical Director Jean Tigana made the following comments after the game against Sivasspor which had been ended with a 3-1 triumph:

“We won a great victory. We had 10 players against 11. What I liked was that the game plan was not ruined when we played with 10 people. My players followed exactly what I had told them during the week and before the game. This is nice. I told them during the break that we had to maintain our position and watch out for our actions. I told them that we would find opportunities later on and we should make a good use out of that.
I did not see what happened with Ailton, but I will not critic the decision of the referee. If our player was shown a red card there, we have to believe the referee. This is what I am doing. I will not comment on that position.
We consider the game against Zenit now. We will prepare with the morale we received from the victory over Sivasspor. I believe that the game against Zenit will also end up with a triumph.
