Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball Team posted a 69-65 victory over the Ukrainian team Kozachka Zalk in its last game in Group E in the European Cup; finished its group as an undefeated leader and advanced to the higher round.

The Black & White team, beginning the game played at BJK Akatlar Sports & Culture Complex with the first 5 consisting of Selwyn, Yasemin, Roberts, Johnson, Müjde, had dominance over its opponent thanks to Roberts’ performance under the rim and to Johnson’s outer shots. Our team wrapped up the first period 24-15 leading with a 9 point gap.
The guest team made a good start into the second period. Making errors one after another in defense, Beşiktaş Cola Turca was not effective in offense either and the gap was closed. While Kozachka Zalk succeeded in trimming the gap to 2 points in this quarter, The Black & White players went to the locker room with a 38-36 lead.
The 3rd period began with baskets scored by both teams. The home team, which grabbed its lead again in the later parts of the game, widened the gap thanks to baskets by Selwyn and Roberts, and wrapped up this quarter 55-48 leading.
Beşiktaş Cola Turca made a good defense and found easy points in its attacks in the last period, and increased the deficit up to 11 points (61-50). The Ukrainian team made a good defense and was effective in offense towards the end of the game, but these efforts did not produce any result and the Black & White team grabbed a 69-65 triumph.
Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball Team, which grabbed a victory in its 6th game in the Group E of the European Cup, finished its group undefeated and advanced to the next round. The teams in the 2nd round, in which the 24 teams that made the first 2 spots in their respective groups and the best 8 teams will take part, will play against one another based on two-game elimination method, and the winning teams will make the first 16 teams.
