Zeleznik: 63 - Beşiktaş Cola Turka: 60

Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team lost 63-60 against BC FMP Zeleznik from Serbia Montenegro in its first game played away in ULEB Cup.

Beşiktaş, which is in Group C, could not make a good start into the game. Having difficult time in stopping Savanovic and Vasic, the Black & White team completed the first period 25-14 tracking. Beşiktaş was more careful in defense in the 2nd period, and scored points thanks to Michael Wright and Kerem Tunçeri. Beşiktaş could not trim the gap in the 2nd quarter and went to the locker room 40-31 tracking with a 9 point difference.
The Black & White team reduced the gap in the 3rd period with especially effective performance of Michael Wright in attacks, and grabbed the opportunity to win the game thanks to contributions of Tyrone Ellis and Kerem Tunçeri in the score. While the 3rd period ended 52-45 with Zeleznik in the lead, there was an intense fight in the 4th period. The score was 52-51 following the points scored by Wright and Ellis in the first few minutes. The Serbian team continued its lead with the Marinovic’s points and finished the game with a 63-60 lead.
Beşiktaş will play its 2nd game in its group against the Spanish team Etosa Alicante at BJK Akatlar Sports and Culture Complex on 15th of November.
