Beşiktaş Cola Turka: 87 - Mersin Bş.Bld:76

Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team defeated Mersin Metropolitan Municipality (87-76) in the game played at the 3rd week of the league and had its 2nd victory in the league.

The game was played in the magnificent atmosphere of BJK Akatlar Sport and Culture Complex. Beşiktaş Cola Turka began the game with Tolga Tekinalp, Michael Wright, Tyrone Ellis, Rodney Elliott and Kerem Tunçeri. Being supported with the cheers of the fans, the Black & White team scored points thanks to Tolga, Kerem, Elliott and Wright and did not give its opponent to score easily thanks to its hard defense. The Black & White team, which shook the balance of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality with fast attacks and which was successful with outside shooting, was also quick to get back to defense and thus made a gap in the first quarter (33-18). 
While Beşiktaş Cola Turka continued its hard defense in the 2nd period, it could not find much chance for attacks since the Mersin team was quick to get back in defense. While the guest team trimmed the gap thanks to performance of Fırat Aydemir, the home team went to the locker room 52-41 in the lead.
Kerim Tunçeri’s successful performance was the driving force for Beşiktaş Cola Turka in the 3rd period also. Beşiktaş extended the deficit again due to points scored by Barış from within the perimeter and Elliott, Ellis and Kerem with shots made from outside the perimeter in addition to the superiority in the rebound. But, Mersin Metropolitan Municipality trimmed the gap again in the last minutes thanks to successful performance by Harun Erdenay, Murat Yolcu and Steven Logan, and the teams carried a 73-63 score into the last quarter.
In spite of the foul problem, Beşiktaş Cola Turka continued its toughness in defense and pressure in the last quarter, but had difficulty in scoring against its opponent which performed defense zone strategy. Mersin Metropolitan Municipality hung on the game until the last seconds, but points scored by Barış Özcan and Michael Wright did not allow any decrease in the deficit. Having performed a superior play throughout the game, Beşiktaş Cola Turka pulled out an 87-76 victory.
