Rıza Çalımbay assessed his resignation in the press conference that he held and thanked notably the President Yıldırım Demirören, the Board of Directors and the fans that supported him.

Rıza Çalımbay who resigned from his duty as the Technical Director, which the resignation was accepted by the Board of Directors, organized a press conference together with his assistants Bülent Albayrak and Cengiz Birgen in the BJK Nevzat Demir Facilities. Çalımbay who emphasized that he had no hard feelings towards anyone said the following:
“My only goal as the Technical Director was to experience what I had experienced while I had played at Beşiktaş. I am a fan of Beşiktaş. I began playing football at Beşiktaş. My football life of over 20 years passed here. My feelings about Beşiktaş are unquestionable. I had said that the minute I realized I was hurting Beşiktaş, I would go, and as a team we discussed it and resigned from our duties.”
“Notably our President, our Board of Directors and the fans provided the support which we needed. I thank them all. I do not have hard any feelings against neither the Administration nor the players. I love all of my players very much. They are great people. I had wonderful times with them.”
